QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
01What is Monolithos?
Monolithos is a local-first, Markdown-native Memory OS: a workstation where memory, AI tasks, writing, presentation, audio, capture, projects, and private boundaries share one user-owned vault.
02Is there a free trial?
Yes. The trial lasts seven days and does not require a card.
03How much does it cost?
Core is $39 monthly or $349 yearly; Max is $89 monthly or $859 yearly; Founder is $999 once for one of 50 seats. The pricing page is canonical.
04What is the refund policy?
Refund eligibility and timing are governed by the published policy at /refund.html. Review it before purchasing.
05Is my vault used for model training?
No. Your vault remains on your device. Monolithos servers route only the AI calls you choose to make.
06What happens if I cancel?
Your plain Markdown and YAML files remain on your disk and stay readable without Monolithos.
07Can I open an existing Obsidian vault?
Yes. There is no migration or import: both apps can work with the same Markdown files.
08Which platforms are live?
macOS, iOS, and Windows are live.
09Which interface languages are supported?
English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
10What works offline?
Vault access, editing, and local capabilities remain local. Minutes transcription runs on-device. Calls to cloud-hosted frontier models require a network connection.
11Which AI models does Monolithos use?
A frontier constellation with Auto routing. The website deliberately avoids pinning model versions so the product can route current suitable capacity.
12Does Minutes upload my recordings?
No. Audio and raw transcripts remain on-device; only structured text you approve can touch cloud AI.
13What is the Private Domain?
A folder boundary you designate. Cloud AI recall, chat, and crystallization cannot cross it.
14How do Projects prevent context leakage?
Each project binds selected sources, and long tasks snapshot that boundary when they launch.
15Where do generated images go?
Facet persists generated assets into your vault and records their provenance, so the library can find them again after restart.
Seven days to feel what changes when your AI stops starting from zero.
